OpenGL doesn't run well for some reason
I usually use the D3D9 renderer in the 227f Patch for Unreal.
However, when I experienced a crash that always occurs on the Nali Slave camp from Shadows of Na Pali, I decided to give OpenGL a try.
It looks great, and does not crash at all on that map.
However, the OpenGL renderer runs very choppy and isn't smooth at all. This doesn't just happen with the 227 version, but with Unreal Tournament as well.
Does this have to do with Vista being retarded and not supporting OpenGL? Or is my graphics card not good enough?
Anyways, here's my specs for my laptop:
Intel Centrino 2 Ghz Processor
4 gbs ram
Nvidia GeForce 9300M GS 512Mb
Windows Vista

Take yours D3D9 settings for your opengl.
You can to update your D3D9 toward
D3D9r12 http://unrealtournament.99.free.fr/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=213
You can try to this seetings opengl the last http://unrealtournament.99.free.fr/utfiles/index.php?dir=Video_Renders/
There is to D3D10 and think to update your directx.
Nvidia GeForce run perfectly with opengl

Dude medor please wrap your settings in

tags. Thank you.
Your laptop is good enough, mine runs Unreal choppy anyway cause it's not for games (Lenovo S10e, netbook). My suggestion though is to dump shitsta (vista) and get ANYTHING else but that crap. Be it Win7, XP or preferably a Linux distro, but ANYTHING but that shit.

Re: OpenGL doesn't run well for some reason
yeah, I think it's gotta be the crappy windows Vista. OpenGL works great on my other computer, but does not work with Vista.
Why oh why did I get Vista? grrrrrr........
Oh well, at least D3D9 works like a charm.
Anyways, I tried to add D3D10 as a renderer in the 227f version of Unreal, and I got an error message saying that the renderer couldn't be found in the dynamic library core link or something like that, and then it doesn't work right. If you need to know exactly what it says, then I'll post it later, because I'm using a different computer right now.

Re: OpenGL doesn't run well for some reason
Yeah it won't work because you need an Unreal renderer that utilizes DX10. It'd be possible to write one, but idk how much improvement you would really get.

Re: OpenGL doesn't run well for some reason
ok, I'll just stick with D3D9. It looks good enough as it is anyway, except for when you see something far away. For example, the ship at the end of the Tower of Shrakit'a. When it lands, I see a bunch of white lines along the edges. Do you know how to adjust this in the settings? I'll try to post a pic later.

If you mean the giant ship thing, I think it's just too complex. It breaks online and it's always pitch black for me

yeah, I did notice after all that all of the complex things were like that.

Re: OpenGL doesn't run well for some reason
OGL/d3d8/9 etc performance varies between computers via OS, drivers and video card. I find at least one works perfectly and the others have either minor issues or don't work too well.
