Mesh detail textures enhancement

With the addition of detail textures on meshes, the pawns, and decorations could look like this:

yeah that stuff looks absolutely beautiful, just shows how detailtextures have a major impact on the appearance of a mesh.

To sad that this does not work with AlphaBlend. means in the moment you use AlphaBlend on a (static) mesh it simply does not work anymore (the complete [static] mesh will have no detail textures anymore).
There seems no way to fix that, at least no way without to kill the z-sorting again...

How would I go about using DetailTextures on models? Seeing this on some weapons would look awesome.

I don't think 227 is ever going to implement that....
But otherwise, look up a guide for UT200x on it.

You can use DetailTextures and MacroTextures on any texture you want. The problem is that weapon textures are in UnrealI/UnrealShare, so you'll need a mutator for that.

No Macrotexture support for (Static) Meshes. This was stated by dots.. just want to mention that.

Do I need to set an option in advanced options to enable this? Or is it enabled automatically if you have detail textures enabled for the world geometry?

Well, looks like this enhancement will going to be part of the game, so I decided to start to create a small .utx file for the 2º skin of the meshes.
Like the rock detail texture for the stone titan, for the normal titan I decided to use some "hard" skin, like: (try to avoid to rescaling the picture)

I will try to release a beta version now, and if I can, i will add the most important monsters and weapons, so, in the time I will add the missing textures and/or improve the older ones.

Will this be automatically be activated on Unreal??? or maybe perhaps add an extra tab in the settings for Very High Settings instead of just High and Low options, which could activate the High Detail meshes and S3TC textures if any.

for detail textures on meshes we maybe add a switch yet, but S3(DXT) textures are nothing to make optional- either you install them or not.
