Failed to import

Post by Age »

Looks like editor fails to import sounds/textures if its directory has spaces in it

Log: FactoryCreateBinary: Sound with SoundFactory (0 0 C:\My)
Warning: Can't find file 'C:\My' for import
ExecWarning: Failed factoring: NEW SOUND FILE=C:\My Sounds\test\avaa.wav PACKAGE=Soundi NAME=avaa

P.S. sorry if causing too much stess because of nearly releasing 227g patch.

This happenend in earlier versions as well, not just 227. Same goes for when importing sounds if they aren't in youre unreal/sounds directory.

AFAIK it's a limitation of the engine and probably not possible to change without heavy modifications to it.

long time issue with nearly any commandline based input in windows, the only exception I know of is mget in FTP.

As you may already know, the standard is to put quotes on FILE= in an #exec import.. to fix this very same problem. The only difference between UCC compiling and this is you're removing the #exec. same rules apply.

not a bug
