Vertex paint texturing method
I'm wondering if it is possible to implement this in the future, or the U engine never will allow that kind of method?
Because the possibilities for texturing that you can have with that are huge.

I like the idea but... wouldn't it be easier to simply paint textures in photoshop (or gimp) then import them in the game?

Re: Vertex paint texturing method
To me, it sounds like the perfect way to implement a WYSIWYG texture editor for Unreal, as skinning alone without knowledge of how the UV map is really layed out can be confusing, and would take alot of trial and error, which can be seriously eased out with a feature like this...
Still I don't know why most image editor programs and\or modeling programs have a feature like this... none I've used seem to want to do something like this for me.

Exactly, with that feature, you can paint, for example, only with 2 textures a large landscape without repeating the same boring pattern, and you will avoid to create a specific pcx or bmp texture for blend the two textures... The level of realism is awesome with this tool.
