[227g_22 linux] Crashes/bugs

Post by Marzanna »

Unreal crashes on some levels(gcc-4.2.4 binaries), as in 227g_21
SkyBase crash log

Sound bug still not fixed :(

Other bugs(freezes, summons, etc) seem to be fixed

EDIT:
Decoration shadows are visible through fog
Image

Not sure is that bug or not(same in 227f)

Sound seems to work for me on my main machine with a SB Audigy2, doesn't matter if FMOD or OpenAL.
But it works only partially with my notebook, sometimes I'm experiencing that the music totally stops. My Notebook is using some Intel HDA Chip.
What soundchip do you have?

For the GCC4.2.4 build I'll have a look at this level, but I get the impression that using GCC3.4.6 is really the better choice.

I haven't noticed crashes with gcc-3.4.6 binaries.

EDIT:
- crash while connecting to 227g server

Ignore that one, my server {the only 227g server, confirmed with "TERRAlift" which is part of my silly capitalization mutator} is conformed to 227f so your .u files will cause actor channel nones crashes.

Also, decals are visible through fog too

Same bug as with shadows.

UPDATE:
My audiochip is: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8233/A/8235/8237 AC97 Audio Controller
I've updated alsa-lib, alsa-utils, alsa-oss but I still have that sound bug.
My kernel is 2.6.32.3

decals & shadows use the same decal code, they should both show the same issues. I'm sure this has something to do with render order & modulated issues.

As I've told already, I have trouble with sound, when it stops.
But with FMODOutputs=DefaultDevice sound doesn't disappear.
