I'm almost sure that you can use 227 maps in older things, but certain things like particle effects and the like will not exist.

If you don't use 227 specific content the old "226 to 225 converter" could work.
However it is strongly suggested NOT TO USE 227 to build maps which are meant to run in any version of Unreal.
If you want to build a map which is running in any version, use 226 or 225 instead.

Smirftsch, if he will not use any 227 content he can use it and also if he will mylevel certain 227 actors and do changes he can do even better conversion. I did it with one map. And even the particles were released standalone by dots and raven back then. So this is all possible. But if it doesn't use any new actors it is peasy easy, just use the Zora's MC. Yeah you have to use that or it will not run on 225, it will just treat it as Unreal 226 map.

thats indeed very good news. I didn't expect it to behave that "friendly". But that's the first report about this I ever had and I still would be careful with it, there is still a chance of having new maybe just not discovered problems.

Exporting to T3D and reimporting it would also make things very compatible I think, since the editor automatically ignores anything that causes incompatibilities, like unknown classes.
