Black Banding on Flickering Lights

Post by Nexorcist »

First off let me say, fantastic work on breathing a little more life into Unreal.

Now for my problem, I am getting black banding on any area that has fast flickering lights, everything else seems to be fine. Its just the very fast flickering ones that have a problem.

Thanks

Nex.

Try to enable vsync to see what you get.

Maybe vsync is disabled in your video card driver. Try to force it in here.

I've always had this issue, across all my cards and renderers. I think it has to do with Unreal itself rather then vsync, as that was the natural suspect for me too when i first investigated. Perhaps the code of the light type in question can be altered to only change values on prerender() calls? I haven't looked at the actual code, but it's the first thing that comes to mind.
