Thanks for the analysis and sorry for posting the log this way. I did look for a way to add it as an attachment but could find none. I will use the link as suggested in the future.

To answer your question about the time stamp the answer is yes. The time reflected was when I exitted the game. Nothing was appended after I killed the EXE in Task Manager. So let me give your suggestions a try and report the results.

The computer is overclocked a bit and I selected the default video and audio when I first started Unreal after installing. I have WinXP Pro 32 bit with all updates. I'm using Norton Internet Security 2012. My graphics card is a BFG GTX295 with 1732 onboard RAM and the latest drivers. Sound is a Creative SB X-Fi Elite Pro also with the latest drivers.

We know that Unreal is VERY bitchy about overclocking, so this could be indeed a reason for it. Other than that the only idea is to rule out the things I mentioned above. Even if no success it will give us more information about what's going on.
Your system provides at least anything needed, but unfortunately gives no hint about this also- except the antivirus maybe, but I doubt it is the cause although I'd check that too in any case.
