A42 Skrith Sidearm

Pretty much like The Dispersion Pistol but the A42s Max Ammo is 300 and has a Rechargeable Battery like the DP. I Prefer Burst Fire rather than Full Auto. Secondary Fire is a Charged Shot same as the DP.

Nice 'n all, but why do you make a new topic for every new thing? Is this all from the same mod or what is it exactly?

I agree, guess those posts should be somehow combined in one topic.

Not Necessary.

Crazy idea that will likely get blown up by a Redeemer and forgotten.

What if we made a UT2004 section? It IS turning into an oldie itself, after all... I would support the notion of featuring 2k4 right here on OldUnreal. What do you think, guys?

I think we should stick to what is currently there. UT2004 has been an incredibly popular game, and I don't think there's that much things to add to it. Also, most people here keep to Unreal, sometimes a bit of UT, so new sections would not be necessary. Unreal and UT are ancients and Unreal 2 is a forgotten relic (rightly so), so they have their place here.
That's my opinion.

My opinion is that U2 is shit and should be removed from the forums before it causes more damage.

Atleast Replace it with UT2004

U2 is shit but it doesn't cause any damage and there is absolutely no other community interested in it. Let's keep it there.

Also I still have the crazy hope that maybe someday, I'll gather some people to do something with it, it's just too nice a mod platform and a shame it was never used. Hey look I mentioned this just yesterday. Nobody noticed however.

Actually, seems like a good idea since the Unreal 2 engine has potential, but it would take alot of work, as I said, U2 is shit.

I aint working on it though since I am lazy and already working on a mappack that due to my laziness It will take 70 years to finish.

U2 is shit, but the engine is cool. Everything that makes U2 a complete failure (poor story, poor weapons, poor design, poor gameplay, slow player), can be altered.

And yeah, no one is clamoring at the door to work on U2.

Man, that would rock! Whoever's intending on rebooting U2 should continue from where RtNP left off, following 849's quest to survive... And NOT shift the spotlight off of him and onto some random a-hole, Epic/whoever made u2 screwed up on that and blew a fuse.

...

But the weapons were kinda cool, though. Imma gonna get somma dat fo' UT2k4! (again...  :P)

And @Hyzoran: Hmmm... good luck with that. My guess is that in 2082 they'll release UEngine40 and Call of Duty : Black Ops 50 (SUX) :D

Final addendum about my idea: Even worse than I thought. Not blown up by a Redeemer, but vaporized by an E-V 9000 plasma gun!

The grenade launcher was kinda cool. The flamethrower was really fun to watch, but not very good to use. All other weapons were meh.
I think its because the sounds were not good. People complained that the machinegun in d3 sounded like a sewing machine, but U2's assault rifle was worse. The dispersion pistol and the shotgun had good sounds, but they were the only one. Even the flamethrower sounded like spraying axe on the enemy to seduce him. The sniper was a nice effort, but in the end it sounded too fake.

Weapons could get a remake. Even if just to add some punch to them. New sounds, new fire modes... Just imagine the Assault rifle sounding like that.

The Only gun I really liked from U2 was the Drakk Laser Rifle.

Oh yeah, that one was cool. But that spider launcher, whatever it was called, was IMO the best of the set. Is there a port of it for UT2k4??

I saw it and I noticed it. But I never modded with U2 and never really had the motivation to do so... I mean, Unreal needs coop, why didn't U2 have it??

I actually think this would be a good idea for Unreal 3. I wrote my ideas for what such a direct sequel to Unreal could be here: oldunreal.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1350437599/new

Matthias Worch explained that with the number of triggers and scripted events in U2, having two players running around would break everything.

Imo that sounded like a poor excuse because they had to release it before they could have done anything.

Don't forget that many things that were planned to make their way into the game were never finished or even started.
It was clearly rushed and that didn't do it well.

Of course it is. U2 is but a shadow of what was planned, and though I'm not sure, I'm quite certain that coop was planned during development, just like multiplayer deathmatch and so on. All of this was simply scrapped with half the story and maps.

When I was reading about what it was supposed to be I thought "first person Mass Effect of the past, neaaaaat!".

A shame it didn't become this at least. Wouldn't have been Unreal anyway, but at least it wouldn't lack that certain love that I missed at some parts of the game.

U2 isn't unreal either. The only link is the Skaarjs and they feel tacked on, and are completely irrelevant to the story (they're used as generic space lizard #641)

The story isn't that overwhelming either. MacGuffin's, just saying. ;)

i never even completed the game, the part where i got bored was where you are in some kind of jungle where you had to defend some idiots who crashed their ship. at this point i established that this game has nothing to do with the original unreal i loved so much.

i want to be a lonely survivor on a planet i don't know where you discover the situation the inhabits have to deal with not some kind of generic space marine that gets sent on missions on different planets so that you never really give a damn about anything since you know you will leave the planet anyway giving you no sense of f*cking progression. and although those translator messages are just text it still gives the game a great atmosphere that unreal 2 never had.

no napali, no nali's to shoot, no exploration of ancient contructions, no anything that made me love the first game. why is this game even called unreal? why not generic marine vs boring aliens?

if you don't mind, i have to kill some nali's to get rid of the frustration that is going through me right now.
