227i map crash

hi guys

i downloaded the map dmriot because ive readed it has new  particle effects. but when i try to launch my map unreal crash. how this comme ?

Sorry for my bad english  :'(

my pc specs :

What video mode were you running (Directx, OpenGL)?

Downloaded? Where did you download it from?
Why didn't you use the DMRiot from the patch? Maybe some version conflict. :)

I wasn't able to duplicate the issue. I downloaded the DMRiot from the Oldunreal downloads section (as I assumed he might have as well). Ran it with my U1 Classic that was upgraded to 227i, as well as my Gold U1 upgraded to 227i. Both ran fine, also tried Directx9 and OpenGl on both w/o problem. Only difference is my test pc was 32bit Win7, and I have a Nvidia card.

Good question from Smirftsch though, where did u get the version of DMRiot you got the error on?

Does it run in any other video mode? (D3D, D3D8, OpenGL, Software)?

DmRiot should work fine, and does not appear in OldUnreal's Dowloads actually. In any case, the patch includes it, and you can manually redownload it here. There must be a problem with your configuration. I use 227i and both the patch's version and the "regular" version hosted on my site (which are the same) both work, at least in OpenGL.

EDIT : To hlk_havoc : I just checked : there is a DMRiot map on OldUnreal, but it's an unfortunate homonym and not mine.

(Static-Mesh Actor 18, the one that seems to cause the problem in your error message, is a perfectly regular staircase... I don't see any problematic setting or parameter which could cause the error).

That error only happens when you try to open a map with static meshes saved on 227i with 227h (this error does not show up the other way around).
So in order to play that map you need to upgrade to 227i first.

Does not change the fact you are trying to open the map in 227h.

I know that because I changed the crash message in 227i:

Niels,
Can you verify what version of U1 you are running? Sounds like you just need to upgrade to 227i and the map will run fine then.
