unreal anthology uk version

Post by Rob-Bot »

I recently moved and only had my unreal gold cd, and none of the others so I decided to get unreal anthology as it was very cheap. I got it off of amazon and didn't pay attention and ended up geting the UK version instead of the US version. I didn't think much untill I saw the reviews. People said the UK version is nothing like the US version. The only reason they stated was, "It doesn't have the same feel." Does anyone know the differences? I can't imagine how a game would change because it's sold in a different country, beside the language of course.

none of the versions I've seen so far make a difference to each other- except maybe the gore level which is censored in some countries. Of course there are the typical anthology changes, like their crappy logo which breaks online compatibility, in any case.
I don't know if you have noticed any differences, but I wouldn't even know on what basis these statements are.
Seen technically there is not much space for these mysterious differences those people "feel", any other change would cause even more problems with compatibility and I doubt this would have gone unnoticed so far.

Either way, if you patch it up with 227, any other difference, even if there are any other than the usual anthology stuff, which I highly doubt- and the net compatibility issues, are gone.

It's an urban legend and it doesn't mean anything. Not only is the engine and the game identical, the UK and US version don't even use different language files. If someone has a different feeling, he just doesn't have the same settings for his input.

There's a wee flaw in the UA version of ut99, over the classic ut99. If it necessary Ill tell you an easy fix, need to copy one of the core files from the classic version to the UA version, but if not don't worry about it...

...it prevents the bots from attacking the monsters.

As far as just Unreal goes, there's a general glitch with UA's Unreal1 and online play... I've heard. I never really played U1 so not too familiar with it.

This is general UA stuff. I don't know from the European version.
