It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

Unreal 226 Key Bindings

Maybe you can help me; if so, please accept my thanks. I am running Unreal v223 upgraded by final patch 226. This was to overcome (with joy) the problem I had with nvidia rendition of the game (64 MB card). It's a P3 600 chip running the show.

The game is now a visual joy (and still the best single narrative line I have seen in gaming) but the control mapping is a mess, for example :

ESC pauses the game, not SHOWMENU;
Flares are activtated but do not "appear" as working, and
Other keys (example : CTRL) pause the game also.

I am obviously way behind in the schema of how Unreal has kept going (and it deservedly has) but I would love to operate it properly. My fiddling with Raw Key Bindings to date under Advanced Options has not helped.

Advice appreciated, and, Happy New Year (well it's a couple of hurs away here).

if ctrl is pausing the game, as well as other keys, chances are somehow your user.ini file got corrupted (i dont know of anything that could do that tho). assuming that is the problem, the solution is to delete user.ini . when you start the game again, a new, presumably working, user.ini will be created (defuser.ini is copied and renamed as user.ini). unless defuser.ini is also corrupted, that should solve the problem. if defuser.ini is also corrupted, reinstall may be your only hope. (well, unless defuser.ini is directly on the cd)
