Re: Server Problems!!!
No, the real solution is to make sure your the computer connected to the main internet line. Or get a proxy server to route packets to internet.
Watch out for Klingon and the rest of his F-A-G-G-O-T friends. Goto kaosklan.d2g.com and click files for firewalls. I'll put on there how to block them. Hack the planet! Freal all you Vader Haters.

Re: Server Problems!!!
its prob showing up out there have someone else check for you, I have the same thing happen on my LAN. Your lan connection uses port 7776 i beleive which will be a direct connect to your server on your LAN all the other ports 7777,7778,7779 will be forwarded by your router or firewall. I use 27500, 27900 as triggers to open ports in the firewall for net pl ;Day.

Re: Server Problems!!!
ok ok ok , guys who are wondering what the problem is listen to this, if you are running HOMENETWORKING with 2 network cards, you are running only 1 ip address b/c it is connecting only one time to the internet through the main computer but only sharing the connection, so get a router or a cheap ass hub and make the computers run 2 (you got it, two) ip addresses so it can send packets directly to the BIG OLE NET and boom you got a runnin server, i have yet to try it to make sure but i have gotten this from alot of people who work for big ass internet companies like ROADRUNNER mainly, so also I KNOW THE MAIN STUFF LIKE SET THE DOUPLINK=TRUE i am not that dumb to whom are wondering, hehe but anyway try this if u have a hub or router, if it does not work tell me b/c i would like to know just in case so i will not have to spend he money!!!

Re: Server Problems!!!
if your uplink is set to true and the ports are open then it will show up on everyones browser in cyberland. Have you had anyone check for you yet? It will only showup internally under LAN games and this is because your network doesnt need to forward the information over the net to your other machines when their in the same room as you, nor can it. Your games will connect on port 7776 which is for lan play. when you look for it on the net it wont be there because its in the same room with you. however your server is still sending packets out for peeps to connect on port 7777,7778. Also if your behnd a router which i believe you are you are using a private ip such as 192.168.0.1 this ip range is not routable because its private. whats happening is your server is sending out ip info about the game to your router. the router is sending packets to the main server in cyberland and then that server reports to everyone that your there, but its reporting the IP of your router. remember your router has the ip that your ISP assigns you not your server but if your on another machine behind your router and your looking for yourself on the internet your going to be picked up under lan games because of that private ip that isnt routable, your game cant exist on your router its on the machine with a private ip and its only viewable from the outside. the same also applies to using 2 nics in one machine, one NIC will have a private ip for your internal machines to share, hope this makes a little sence.

Re: Server Problems!!!
HEY JURZ,
The thing is, i am for one thing using network cards not a router, so in that case it is using 1 ip under 2 computers so it cannot show me out there when i have a server going, it actually REALLY only is connected to a LAN , yes i have had ppl check it for me, but i am going to go buy a hub within the next month or even get one for free here in a few days if not i am buying one, but in that case i am pretty sure even though i am behind a firewall it will still do it as long as i am running the firewall on the other computer not this one, so once i have the HUB up it will not show up as lan on the computer(without the server) or should i say gameplay computer hehe, but i am hoping that this will solve the problem, if not i want to show u by u getting on unreal at the same time as i do so i can even have u check to see if u can see my server, which U WONT lol just to prove my point man, i am pretty sure the HUB will solve the problem, the thing is if i had it my way i would not have zonealarm lol, my moms idea on her computer(gameplay one) i am gonna run the server on mine since it is a peice compared to hers!! anyway i think it will work soon yay yay yay!!!!!!

well if your using 2 nics then you are using a router, your computer is the router if your runnig a firewall open ports 7775, 7776,7777,7778,27500,27900 And if your game isnt showing up on the net then unreal is setting up on your internal NIC. You cant run 2 computers on 1 IP it isnt possible your other machine was either issued an ip by your server or automatically configured itself with an IP address from the Microsoft-reserved IP address range of 169.254.0.1 through 169.254.255.254 .
Get yourself a copy of WIN2K server and lose the other nic, enable dhcp and life will be good. 2 NIC setups are very complicated for users that dont have much networking experience.
