when I try to load up Unrealed with the latest unrealed fix, it freezes. This is under the latest OpenGL patch with all high-res S3TC textures enabled. When I open up a S3TC texture file such as hubeffects.utx, the editor freezes giving an fatal exception message. Please Help!!

Re: UnrealEd bug when opening S3TC textures
problem is, ued was never really made to use s3tc textures - what you could do is to build with "normal" textures and replace the "normal" when finished the map with the s3tc packages - worse you can't make own packages in this case. Ued code was never published so i see no chance to change this. Mabye a workarround would be to use ued from unrealtournament, and port the map after finishing it to Unreal - should be working .

Re: UnrealEd bug when opening S3TC textures
Lucky for me, I have a copy of Unreal Tournament. I suppose that supports the S3TC textures. I was just wondering how do you port the map to UT? Like, the last time I ported from Unreal Tournament to Unreal, the map totally got screwed up.(I added the normal textures that come with unreal as well as UT) It just gave a general protection fault.

Re: UnrealEd bug when opening S3TC textures
thats a question for the mappers, i know it is possible, because a lot of maps were converted from ut to unreal, maybe ask in the usermaps forum ? or check in the linklist for wolfs unreal, a great resource for mapping.

Re: UnrealEd bug when opening S3TC textures
I know it's possible to convert Unreal maps to UT. I have converted DM-Ariza into UT and it worked fine. I tried to do my map modifications in Unreal ED 2.0 and saved the file in the Unreal\maps directory. Unreal closed when I opened the map giving some strange message about collision detection. The only thing I modifed in the map I was doing(DM-Ariza) was change around some textures, which I got from Unreal\Textures. So I don't get really whats going on. I'll try asking in the usermaps forum like you said. Thanks for you help anyway though. Smirftsch.
