It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

OpenAL vs FMOD?
Does one have any advantages over the other?

FMOD is for old systems and ALAudio is for new systems and it is same as EAX renamed and updated alot.

Well, OpenAL is open source, while FMOD is proprietary. But generally there shouldn't be much of a difference for the end user.

Does anyone notice that the OpenAL and FMOD drivers make the pulse gun alt-fire sound different? It's much quieter and wierd.

I have to admit that the UT version really needs an update in any case, try then the update and judge 
But in general I prefer OpenAL because its 3D audio positioning works best (for me). FMod however has a very good quality and is some really good working audio library with almost no compatibility issues to any soundcard or even Operating system.

On Unreal 2.27f i use fmod, on UT99 4.36 i use galaxy. (fmod and openal crashes on some maps)
