Unreal Tournament Playstation 3

UT now belongs to the "old" Unreal as well. Supporting it for OpenGL and Sound its time to put up a board now.

Unreal Tournament Playstation 3

Post by BigFat7of9Tits »

Hey guys,

My awesome sister :) decided to give me a Playstation 3 for my birthday. In a very positive way I'm suprised with the PS3's functions, stability and integration with other devices and the Internet.

Anyways.....I bought myself UT3 for my new PS3. Coming from the PC releases of Unreal, UT, UT3 etc. (which I ofcourse still play every now and then), the first thing I noticed is that I'm feeling like a handicapped retard playing with a PS controller instead of the usual keyboard/mouse setup. It just feels sooo limited (especially due to the analog sticks). But I have good faith that it's just a matter of getting used to.

I was wondering if there are any other peeps also coming from the PC platform who would like to share their experiences regarding playing UT(3) on the PS3 (or similar) and maybe share some (general)tips. Btw, I know that you can play UT3 with optional keyboard + mouse on the PS3, but since it's a console I'm not really looking for that :)

In my opinion, that's what the consoles are aiming for :\ I never approved of them and will probably never will. Of course, it's a great thing for companies to advertise them, because they get a guarantee that you will buy again, since that console will become outdated and you can't update it yourself, and you have to constantly buy things like DLCs, different controllers and such.

So, suggestion: return to PC gaming :)

I think you can play UT99 PC version or Unreal with Yellow Dog Linux.

I totally agree with this thread, FPS = PC, you have greater dexterity with mouse & keyboard when playing shooters, and the configs aren't set to auto-aim, so you have 100% control.

And yes the old PS3 could do alot more. The original 20GB, 40GB, 80GB models were also backwards compatible with PS2 games, as the original PS3 contained Sony's Emotion Chip along with most of the PS2 hardware. The new models like the PS3 Slim & the re-releases have excluded this. They left out the hardware completely.

Consoles are a one hit wonder that only last for 3/4 years anyway. PC games last forever. And as said before you can spend what you can afford to upgrade your PC.
