Unreal Tournament Beta footage

In light of the fact that so many of this has been posted and displayed for quite some time, and that no comment has been said by any members or associates of Epic Games about any of these subjects, I believe that in the case of their old games only a few people who worked on them then would really care at all about whether a distribution takes place or not. Even with legal personnel commenting on the subject, it seems that on the whole not even a simple warning is required, thus they probably wont be so touchy on unused or changed content from the beta of the game being either released separately or released as a conversion. Also, you have to consider the Unreal 1 beta's leak. It's still out there; I coud even download it right now, and Epic have not removed or enforced against any of the hosting parties involved. Also, seeing as how it was leaked more than two years ago, I would assume that UT, being released and copyrighted about a year later than Unreal, would also follow the same conditions if it were to be leaked now. That's an old warning that is displayed there, SKW, meant for the beta testers to keep in mind, but UT is an older game using an old version of the engine, so you have virtually no risk of being either sued or fined, simply because of what we saw for the UBeta and the lack of comment or action by Epic. If you were to be sued, you would legally be able to bring up the fact that, for quite some time, a leaked UBeta has been in existence online and that no action has been taken against any of the parties by Epic Games since its leak.

Also, this is meant to enlighten the decision of releasing the Beta or not, so I'm not telling you to release it, I'm just stating the likelihood of any legal conflicts based on what I've seen with other situations in conjunction with Epic.

Well yea, there is a great deal of difference between "can you be sued" and "will you be sued".
As for leaked betas, AFAIK they are treated like released betas, if it was leaked then oh well, people can have it.

I've seen leaked betas become treated like released betas. A good example of this is are the Doom alphas; they were leaked before Doom was released but id software let them be uploaded to the idgames archive a few years later because they were of "historic interest".
