The S3TC textures on the second disk

Can some one give me an example of what one of these filenames would be called? I've installed the "High-Res" textures off the second disk and I'm running OpenGL ingame but i don't think there is any difference so i was wondering if i'd actually installed them. I looked on the second disk in the texture folder and none of the textures had S3TC in them which i thought was odd but i wasn't sure if they should or not.

You will surely notice the new textures in DMDeck16. The file names are the same, so that's not the way you can see it.

Ps. Did you enable the option UseS3TC in advanced OpenGL options?

Yeah they are enabled I was just wondering. Thanks though. I'll go play deck 16 now and see the difference.

Keep in mind that the S3TC textures you can download only work for SinglePlayer an NOT for online playing. The textures on your second CD are networkcompatible, just not the new ones.

And in adition to my remark above, all the S3TC textures that can be downloaded are FULL networkcompatible with Unreal, meaning both on and off line, just not UT...........yet.

Which points out again that the S3TC webpages are a complete mess

I have been workin all evening to update the instructions for Unreal and UnrealGold.

And hit your refresh button so you will be sure it loads the new page correctly !

There it has a proper installation guide for Unreal now, and that includes all links to the latest patches.

For UT i will redo them later this week.

So those were the right instructions just not the right files. That was lucky i asked because i already have the UT seconfd disk.
