Thx for the OpenAL patch!

UT now belongs to the "old" Unreal as well. Supporting it for OpenGL and Sound its time to put up a board now.

Thx for the OpenAL patch!

Great work on the OpenAL audio driver! I just installed it tonight and I'm really impressed with its capability. It works very well on my Audigy 2ZS. I remember being 'excited' when Creative released an EAX driver for UT and then completely disappointed when it made the game play badly! Your driver however dropped in and worked without any issues at all!

Someone has already mentioned the fade in on track start which is a little odd.

One small bug in the doc - you mention UT versions 436/351. Clearly you meant 451 :)

I'm already running Chris Dohnal's OpenGL driver (needed as my new 6600GT flatly refuses to run D3D for UT!) and I'm guess that your package simply includes his driver with no custom modifications?!

I still have our clan webby up but it's more 'in stasis' than anything else these days! That (I think) was deisgn Mk4 over a span of almost 6 years! We still enjoy the odd frag session together but it's not like it used to be - cheating meant we dropped off of the public scene a *long* time ago :(

Ta for now, great work on providing players with the means to make use of new hardware!

happy to hear that, that was the idea of it

for the 351, sure its a typo, will correct it, thx.

for the fading in, it should be corrected in the bugfix release i made yesterday, so if you got your version before try it with the new, but i didnt spend much time on the fading yet, not enough time yet to test it carefully, please report if it still doesnt work.

For the opengl, yes its the latest version from Chris, without modifications for UT, only the unreal versions needed a few modifications, but are the same version as well.

Clans...yes, i'm still playing almost Unreal only because of cheating and the old style of unreal playing (see unreal-netiquette), and to be honest i never liked the ut-style playing, but ut is offering that many things, mods and enhancements-  its sad see that this game is doing to die now too, at least this is my impression, comparing the current servers and players against lets say a year ago. True, its a matter of time, its the usual way of going, but i think as long we play it, or in other words as long i can finds some friends to play with, everything is ok. Never give up :)

I'm interested in this OpenAL patch, but I do not see it in the downloads section. Has it been removed?

And thanks for the great site, keeping UT alive is a wonderful thing!

This may be a little late but I would also like to thank OldUnreal for the OpenAL patch. :) I have been using it for quite a while with out many problems. Only one I have come across so far is when playing DM-Fade http://nalicity.beyondunreal.com/map_hub.php?mid=8932 The game crashes without warning when I try to play that map using FMOD or OpenAL. I also included the OpenAL patch in this guide thing I created at BeyondUnreal. http://forums.beyondunreal.com/showthread.php?t=160250 It isn't exactly done. Maybe some of you can help?
