It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

UT now belongs to the "old" Unreal as well. Supporting it for OpenGL and Sound its time to put up a board now.

You said yourself on the main page:

i'm the last who would forget this, but times are changing, and ut is nowadays going to die like unreal was a few years ago. Don't get me wrong, this isnt going to be an UT page, but i think it wouldnt hurt to put this game on here too, to expand old unreal into this direction. I will not have the time myself anyway to make more for ut than putting the basic patches and stuff on here, so if someone is willing to spend some time it can be more, thats the reason for this board here now and the question for a maintainer.

ps: aside the testing for openal/fmod i don't play ut myself, and i'll never leave unreal for it.

Well being that Ive been running Unreal in UT the last few weeks Im sure I can help out there Smirftsch. Not sure what your looking for but I have tons of stuff for UT and quite honestly I'd like to see unreal played in UT for various reasons. I currently have been playing UnrealDM in UT using opengl and s3tc textures. TCP Wolf has got UTF working in UT and I beleive all gametypes are supported. I must admit I really like what Ive seen so far. 8)

Yea... however UT's cheat protections don't seem to get along with UTF... but... bots might not either LMAO

UT1 is stronger than even UT2k4 is I believe :P heh, ain't gonna die for a helluva long time :)

No need to use this board for anything other than a general question area about OpenGL/Fmod/ALAudio really.

the big pages doesnt seem to care about it that much anymore, all i read is 2k4 - and a lot of ut related pages i looked at are dead now (or that commercial that it doesnt make any fun anymore)- i saw the same signs a few years ago with unreal- maybe my impression is wrong about this, but i wanna offer at least the possibility and i don't think that the forum will used that much in the beginning either, it will take some time. Oldunreal won't change into an ut page, the only thing that happens is that an additional section is added.

Well, the way i see it, people are going to keep leaving unreal, until about a year from now. Then, the only people left will be the people who will Never leave.

Around 200 of us or so.

but anyway, UT is almost as empty as unreal these days, so i think its only fair that it has a place here. I see unreal 1 and UT1 as being basically the same game (or at least the same group of games). Its the same with unreal 2 and UT2k4.
As much as i try, i cannot seem to think of an interesting and amusing signature...I blame the stupid fools who stole all my ideas for decent signatures...

Fools...

Well I can garuentee that you won't be seeing me leave Unreal EVER. Count on me being among the 200 or so left.

(Anyway I'm designing a small site right now that I intend to list every unrealer in the world on).

We do still get new users to Unreal, your know.

In my opinion OldUnreal should stay an Unreal-only website. Especially when resources are low, it's better to focus on the core business.

I dont mind joined forces either, as long as Unreal also keeps on the same top and not being dusted under......


As far as all the projects going on right now, i still wonder about the other communities like Rune, WOT and DeusX. do they know how far we are getting latelly lol. Theres so much interesting stuff going on latelly :)


Maybe someone should go post something on their forums.

Really? What are you going to do about all those "1337" people who have been in 7 or more clans within a few months and changed names 13 times? Basically there have been a few very short-lived appearances of clans and names, and the people just went in another clan with a new name, then yet another... I have long lost track who is who on all of them except those that speak to me in the name they used 2 years ago.

Hellraiser had something like that for years, it was also connected to the individual worldstats of the player.

So you could see all the stats and if the player was or was not online.
