It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

Usermaps

Post by Pitbull »

The new Usermaps page is now open. We still have alot of work to do to get the page totally up to date, but we're workin on it. If you don't see your map posted check the guidelines page out and resubmit it. Alot of the maps in the archive were missing readme files and I have no way of knowing what version or author they were. There is a sample readme file at the info section of Usermaps. Feel free to post your own review of any map here. You can make your posts right here in the Usermap Board. Enjoy ;)

Hey PB,
Boy this is a long way around the barn I'll tell ya !!!
Never could get my Unreal Editor to work. Got that cheap DELL. It has XP and (guess what) it doesn't work there either. Did the UnrealEdFix4.exe and it opened the program but crashes when I try to load a map. Geez!!! I see there are several downloads for the Editor. What do you suggest I try for XP and an NVIDIA graphics card. Oh Yeah - I can get online but can't get the mail to work. LOL Ain't technology great !!! Will call my ISP soon. Dying to get to those maps !!!!!!!! -and mine- Email me and (hopefully) I'll have my email resolved - anyway. BTW... great work, great site, truly UpTown.

Hey Flap,
I've been searching all over but can't seem to find anything on xp issues. (at least as far as oldunreal editor is concerned) The only thing I can possibly think of is to make sure the install path for the editor patch is correct. It may also be your video driver. On my other computer I can play with opengl but when I open up the editor it crashes. I can get to the editor when I use d3d. Weird huh? If anyone else knows how to fix editor problems with xp please post your input. I'll keep searchin though Flap cause I'm gettin ready to switch to xp myself. ;)

temporary installed winxp for testing purposes, ed worked fine; using a gf3; nvdidia reference drivers; you could try to set windowed rendering mode in unreal ini to opengl oder d3d, this will affect the editor; aside this the error message and maybe a logfiel would be helpfull..
