Creating FireTextures
I would like to know how are custom FireTextures created. Everything I know so far is, when I try to export a FireTexture, UEd crashes. xD
If anybody is willing to explain, I would be very grateful.

Re: Creating FireTextures
Its quit simple, a Fire texture doesnt excist. Its made of "effects" only, and you cant export an effect. The same goes for a Wet texture, which can have a source texture(unlike a Fire texture). But the same story applies here, the source texture is "borrowed" and only projected, its not really there. So if you try to export that texture, you try to export an effect (which is just an effect that doesnt excist) and a source texture that isnt really there. I agree they could have done it a bit better, and simply give a remark "unexportable" instead of a crash ::)
And like Casey said, you have to click new and choose FireTexture. It will create a black blanc texture. Now rightclick on it and choose "Edit Properties, than in the menu FirePaint you can choose the type of fire under SparkType and toy around with all the other properties under FirePaint.
I dont believe theres a real guide how to achive a certain effect, except try and error.
And creating Wet textures is pretty similar, except that in the WaterPaint menu you can also choose a source for your background.
For more info you can try this mirror from Epic:
