Map Pack - Blue Mountain 2 (Tentative Title)

Post by Unpunished »

hey y'all - unpunished here :)

I recently found myself trappd in the world of unreal again, and I decided to continue an old map pack I had started and never finished. it was supposed to be the sequel to a really crappy map pack I had made way back in the day, hence the "2".

as far as the overall goal of this map pack, I want to create something with at least an hour of gameplay. all my previous map packs were really short...so yeah.

here's some screenshots:

as far as progress goes, I've finished about 4 levels giving me about 15 minutes of gameplay. those 15 minutes are of me going right to the objective, so for first-timers it may be as many as 20-30 minutes of gameplay.

NOTE: the first 3 levels I had already developed (without the intent of making it last a while).

so yeah - hopefully this'll turn out to be a good one.

the terrain and surroundings look quite nice, but i'd definately recommend you to redo the lighting, as pyronious mentioned its pretty bland, as if you're running rmode 1, or you're only using zone lighting.

These shots look extremely similar to a map someone made for a mod sWAGMAn (he's an old, old friend who left Unreal years ago) and I were working on back in the olden days of Unreal. Wasn't that you who made that map? No, wait, I think that was Pcube. Never mind.

I remember playing your old Blue Mountain map pack back when your username was still Exiled. In fact, I still remember most of your old mods like the Exiled and Amethyst weapon mod series and that city map you made (the one with the "faces in the clouds." Yes, I still remember that), not to mention that one Role-playing snowy base map.

I'll look forward to this pack. I rather liked Blue Mountain 1, although this could be the nostalgia talking.

Nice shots and good job because whenever I try to continue I started some time ago, I usually screw it up. A tip though, you should add 3D grass on the floor with grass texture and some plants on the cliffs. :) Pretty good, overall.

actually, my brightness was all the way up for those screenshots, haha. so that might be it. it looks much better in-game. I am using zone lighting but there's actually several standalone lights up there.

thanks for the comments everyone. :)
