S3TC glich

Post by Raven »

I've created a mover, textured it in UED (using standard low-res textures) and everything was ok. Then I run map under Unreal 1, and I saw that texture coordinates in mover was screwed:

It happens only when I'm running map with S3TC enabled. With low-res textures (and in UED) everything looks fine. Anyone knows solution ?

i don't think its related to the s3tc textures, as i have that issue alot even though i don't have the s3tc textures installed on my current setup.

i'm assuming you're using 227 right? does the mover still show up fine in ued after saving and playing the map? (eg in mover->show poly's?)

i think some of the implentation of ued2 is a bit screwy in 227, i've found it doing a "transform permanently" on alot of my movers, therefore misaligning their textures... it would have been a seriously annoying issue if it werent for ued2's mover->show poly's feature  :D

You're right. It's UED2 related issue. Tnx for giving a clue :). Guess I have to make mover in UT's UED2 and paste it in U1

seems this issue does not only occur on movers, but on almost ANY shape created with the 2d shape editor and is duplicated multiple times in the level.

i found that in a level of mine after a rebuild EVERY arch of identical shape had their poly's split and misaligned textures... seems like a VERY annoying issue :-/
