Texture Question?
I found some cool Sun Pictures and I wanted to add them to the game and replace the original ingame Sun Textures because they look pretty bland. What size do they need to be and what Type of File Extension does it need to be for it to work in UnrealEd? Or does anyone know if there are New Sun Textures i can Download?

Re: Texture Question?
You can't replace textures without breaking online compatibility.

Re: Texture Question?
Hes not playing online ,he already stated he is modifing the maps to add weapons and ammo , And whats to say he wasnt going to rename the files?
opinions will vary whether or not to use bmp or pcx but I have found textures need to be in powers of 2 ie 64x64 128x256 256x256 256 x 128 etc and should be 16 bit 256 color pcx format files to be imported into unrealed. The tool BRIGHT.exe may be of help to downsample the palletes. look in the editor to see what sizes the images use to get a idea of what you need to resize you images to.

Re: Texture Question?
There was that "replace the originals" bit in the first post.
But yes, you can add them into a new package, then edit the maps you want, replace the texture, and save the map with another name.
That said, DDS is what you want to use for the best effect. They don't have any palette problems and are well compressed. Saving images as DDS requires extra plugins on most graphical software, however.
And yes, they have to be powers of two.
