Recommended 3D Modeling/Animating Programs

Post by Nibiru »

Hello, my name is Nibiru, and I am new to the OldUnreal forums D:

I've been working with UnrealEd for a while, but I never really got around to 3D modeling. Mostly because I never knew where to start. What programs would you suggest to use for Mesh modeling/skinning/animating etc.?

I'm asking because I want to create a map with custom monsters, weapons, projectiles etc., and I don't want to be lame and use the default Unreal Gold actors.

Blender. It has a bit of a learning curve, but it's very powerful and free. All other software costs are in the thousands...
