UnrealRtNPPatch +S3TC
Hi I saw this on the patch site.
Now there's a new patch for Napali- seems to have the same improvements like final Unreal patch but with the gui of UT : UnrealRtNPPatch
I tried using this with the openGL s3tc mod but it wouldnt work. Got corruption and black textures.
However it works great if I use the mod for version 224.
Is it possible to make it work with the new patch?
I run all three games and its working great with this new openGL patch. Its finally fun to play Unreal again. After trading out my old Voodo rush 3dfx card with the new radeon 9700pro I didnt think Unreal would ever look like 3dfx again, but the new OpenGL patch is even better. Thanks.

It works for me, just check if you enabled S3TC in the unreal.ini it would explain corrupted textures.

Ok, I dropped all the files from the OpenGL patch into the system folder.
When I hit escape I only get up the arrow, I see no menu, everything else works fine with new textures.
Is there only some of the files I should have extracted into the system folder? What could I have been doing wrong?

Re: UnrealRtNPPatch +S3TC
I solved it, seems like it didnt want all the files as in the old 224, but only one file "OpenGLdrv.dll" from the 226 2.1.0.7 patch. I modified the unreal.ini file and now it works flawlessly. My mistake.
Should have treated it as the original unreal from the beginning with this patch.

What did you modify in the unreal.ini file to make it work?
1st install.. did the same thing. Everything worked flawlessly.. except there was no menu.
2nd install.. changed the order a little.. game won't even run now.. crashes.

Re: UnrealRtNPPatch +S3TC
Youll have to remove the extra files from the 224 patch. The only file you need is the openGLdrv.dll
And youll need to modify unreal.ini.
So if you didnt backup the original files before installing 224 (which you sholdnt have innstalled in the first place) then youll need to install everything again. (NOT install 224). Update with RtNPPatch and then drop the 226 OpenGLdrv.dll into the system folder and then modify unreal.ini
Of course youll also need to insert the modified s3tc textures into the textures folder.

Re: UnrealRtNPPatch +S3TC
Thanks I got it working.. looks incredible!
For some reason I had to install all 5 files including the opengl driver. I also used this for the opengl section in the system.ini.
[OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice]
Translucency=True
VolumetricLighting=True
ShinySurfaces=True
Coronas=True
HighDetailActors=True
DetailTextures=True
GammaOffset=0.000000
LODBias=-2.000000
MaxLogTextureSize=8
MinLogTextureSize=1
MaxLogVOverU=8
MaxLogUOverV=8
MaxAnisotropy=3
MaxTMUnits=3
RefreshRate=0
DetailMax=3
UseFisheye=False
NoFiltering=False
DisableSpecialDT=False
UseFilterSGIS=True
Use4444Textures=False
UseTNT=False
UseS3TC=True
UseVertexSpecular=True
AlwaysMipmap=False
UseAlphaPalette=True
UsePalette=True
UseTrilinear=True
UseMultitexture=True
ShareLists=False
DoPrecache=True
UsePrecache=False
-------------------------
Changing the LODBias to a negative value makes things in the distance look much nicer. Be warned though.. you need fast hardware for this.
