Making a map

Post by Canadian_Bacon »

I'm making an inf map and i was wondering what textures i should use that would show up as s3tc textures. i know playrship.utx is mostly converted so i used one from that one. But i wanted a good ground texture, could somebody point towards a nice looking s3tc ground texture?

also is there a masked sky texture in s3tc?

the map i'm making uses a total of... 3 textures lol if you guys are familiar with inf_marveltg, i'm making one called inf_capcomtg lol

WHY WON't ANYONE HELP ME!!
On occasion i have to go to work too,.........and have some sleep :)

But for the textures, the Texture Database is fairly up to date as far as S3TC textures.

So in effect your question is provided for 8)

Forgot to say that lol, map looks cool :D

Btw that WARNING floortexture will be available in much higher quality than that one in the PlayerShp01.utx package.

But i am not sure when exactly it will be released, working on it though.

Buster will be gone till (i think) the 11th of September. Moving house or something.
As much as i try, i cannot seem to think of an interesting and amusing signature...I blame the stupid fools who stole all my ideas for decent signatures...

Fools...

I'll get you some day!

the people over at SA seem to be unorganized :P i showed them the map and gave em a link to the download and they still don't put it on.... thats why i need SHAMBLER!!

I added you map to our downloads :) :

http://www.celticwarriors.net/website/downloads800/infiltrationmaps/infiltrationmaps.htm

I did not have a look at the file, you should submit the maps to this site for a review, since i only have downloads.

In general people will only run a map on a server depending on playability in combination with the size of the map. Though i think if you play often at a certain server, i guess it would be nice if they would run the map. But at the end, the map needs ''to fit in'' how a server is beeing adminned.

Another note, add a creditfile to you map, it lacks one, info on that you can find here:

http://www.celticwarriors.net/website/downloads800/Submit/Submit.htm

o crap, i should probably put my newer ones here

http://rapidshare.de/files/6721998/INF__C_CapcomTG.unr.html
http://rapidshare.de/files/5751574/INF_SnipeZ.unr.html ( you probably have snipez )

i'm also working on another one but i'm having misspawn troubles again

also snipez requires a texture package called raekwon or something

thanks Henry

Hmm thats a bad thing Canadian, you really should offer the maps you make as 'self supporting' , meaning create a zipfile that contains everything you need to make the map run.

- the map
- texture package(s)
- .u .int files if used
- a (notepad) creditfile

Because if you say it need some texturepackage, i have no clue where to find, which means one cannot run the map.............

Make a zipfile that contains everything needed for that map, and never asume that someone already may have a certain file!

I finally just read this topic ... sorry about not responding sooner !! :(

But I did just hit the CW site and DL your map ... it's pretty good. Looks as if you solved your "lighting" probs.

Good job !! ;D
