Im thinking of going trough that to start learning some programming, then gaining a bit of experience in that, go to uscript.
There are always thing that I want to do like custom triggers, custom movers and rule changes to certain gametypes.

It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

Re: A good kickstart before learning uscript?
To answer your original question, learning Java would help with UScript. Learning C or C++ would also help, but UScript is closer to Java. All of those are sequential programming languages and are pretty similar. I've heard many people say "If you learn one language you can learn another in a day". If you learn Java you should be able to quickly pick up UScript. Learning Java would also be more useful in the real world, plus you can probably get a better tutorial for teaching someone new for Java than you can for UScript.
If you do that approach, I suggust checking out Buster's links after getting the hang of Java. Go through the UScript source to the default classes and some mods that have their source included to learn some specifics about UScript. Fooling around with the 'set' command to change default properties and watching the effects in-game is also helpful at times (it's also very useful for debugging)
Good luck.
