Unreal 226F with GeForce III - OpenGL crashes

Post by Zephyr »

I've just installed Unreal 226 final with GeForce3 card using NVidia's 81.98 Forceware drivers for WinXP.

All Unreal does is crash if I use OpenGL driver. I then installed OldUnreal's OpenGL driver v1 and I get a crash concerning Core.dll error

translated from dutch:

Can't find entry-point of procedure ?ConditionalDestroy@UObject@@QAEXXZ in DLL-file Core.dll

Can anyone help?

probably you installed the wrong version of the patch, please recheck that you are using the version for Unreal226

Smirftsch,

Thanks for answering!

I re-installed Unreal (1st original CD; followed by newly-downloaded v226Final patch; followed by OpenGlDrv1.zip but no luck, same error.

However, not wanting to give up on this, I installed OMP-226-v0.2.exe as a follow-on.

Again no luck, but at least not the entry-point error. So I tweaked the OpenGL settings, one of which was UseTNT=False and set it to UseTNT=True. And now it works ;D

However, since it wasn't the only change, I will get back on which change does it for anyone having the same problem with GeForce3 Ti500 card...

well....

I returned to the default settings in the Unreal.ini and it still worked...GeForce3 just plain does it and well too @ 1600x1200   ;)

Thanks to everyone involved with patches for Unreal at OldUnreal...Wouldn't be able to play the game otherwise...
