Issue with Linux Full Installer on Steam Deck (Unreal v227k)

Post by HurtMePlentyM8 »

Hi everyone, I just wanted to say that I recently got a Steam Deck and tried installing the native Linux versions of the Unreal games kindly provided here through a link on OldUnreal. UT99 and UT2004 worked perfectly but I had to rename two library files to get Unreal Gold to work. Not sure if this issue has been flagged for the 227k installer release? Here's a link to the release I used on GitHub:

I thankfully managed to fix the issue by renaming two library files as it seemed to be looking for slightly different file names when running through the terminal:

It was those two files highlighted above. I think the original names had the version number at the end so just changed it to exactly what Konsole was looking for.

I was just wondering if the development team were aware of this and if it could possibly be fixed? I also noticed some of the controller bindings were off as the left analog stick was set up for aiming.

Hope that helps and as I said I don't have any problems with the Full Installers for either UT99 or UT2004. thumbsup

Original image link seemed to break, so here it is again:
