I can't seem to find just Unreal Gold solo patch, I don't even have Unreal Anthology

Hello! I have a bit of a conundrum, I bought Unreal Gold a long time ago on GOG. I kinda forgot I had it, so I decided to install it and try it out, turns out it runs like butt. So I had to search everywhere to find this patch to help me, I got the right patch 227i but it needs Unreal Anthology also and not just Gold. So any help would be nice! Thank you

I figured it out for me, I just chose the 3dfx version not the Direct 3D one, it works massively and runs super well now. I don't know why the voodoo engine seems to run well? Who knows I found the solution without a patch!

Unreal Gold already has the latest official (Epic Games) patch 226. This is the one you want for very old computers of around the release of the game.

If you want to use that for online play you need to edit your .ini file to reach the new master server:

If you have Unreal Anthology AND want to use the old original patch, you need a small update to make it compatible with online play:

Heya,

The GOG version of the game is Unreal Gold, and works perfectly with the latest patch.

I would also recommend using 227k over J because J wasn't a great release.

Alternatively, you can download the entire game (with the latest patch) via the main page of this website. We have express permission from Epic to do that.

Hello. I have the original CD of Unreal Gold, which is basically the same as the one on GOG. Unreal 226. I use the 227i (the stable 227 on oldunreal.com downloads).

When I install Unreal Gold I uncheck the Editor and DirectX installs. The DirectX is really old, and 227i comes with a fantastic editor. Then I add the patch.

Be wary that 227i is a very old version at this point. The majority of users are on 227k_12 (as it's more stable than J and i), and If I'm correct, 227i is also alot less stable than K_12, even though K is still an in development version.

I know, but on the oldunreal site its labeled as the "stable" version, and the one that's on the DL list for Unreal Gold itself. Actually, the best thing to do is just used the installer and get the updated copy of Unreal Gold for free, even if you own a copy of it already, be it an original CD like I do, or off of GOG etc.
