It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

Out of these two, Jiganara is a known file.
In fact, if anything, I would hope that one day Jiganara2 is found. It's the missing one from the set.

I thought you were looking for one of the versions of old jiganara as well, isn't this version of a different date? Either way, UWar at least is something that has been lost for a while in any version so I'm glad that was found now.
I do remember playing two jiganara maps at one point. I am not sure what the second one was.

Ah I see, Jiganara_224 is your conversion from 2011, but why isn't the original one floating around in general anymore? On oldunreal downloads there's only

Very likely that I got it from Smartball, and I've no idea where he would have gotten it from.
He gave me his System folder when he introduced me to the game 20+ years ago, and I've kept that folder through every iteration of the game I've used since that day. So there's still a handful of leftover stuff from whatever he had way back then.
Seeing UWar rang a bell tho so I went to take a look and sure enough there it was.
I can take a look to see if there's anything else in there if you have any other mod names off the top of your head.
The oldest thing I see is OSPWeapons.u from May 29th 1998, which looks to be just an akimbo automag made by Brandon "GreenMarine" Reinhart.

OSPWeapons is not lost thanks to it being included in many custom dm maps, but yea that is the first version of the doublemag, the revised script ended up in UT, first iteration we have is botpack 220 and then one of the 221 versions. Please show me a list of what you have of the old mods. Is there ctc, capture the cow by any chance? I've been searching for that one forever. Or the old/original Unreal 2d before dots basically remade that mod. The one that was in the first make something unreal contest (no it didn't start with ut2003, they retconned the contest later).

Latest versions of Conquer the base, ctb, or once called even capture the base, are also missing. There's just the 220 originals and the conversion(s) of that. But they kept updating the mod beyond those rescued versions and that is no longer there. Or hell even serpentine between version 1 beta and version 7 is also lost.

I don't believe I have capture the cow, conquer the base, or defense corp unfortunately.
I think a bunch of the older mods I have here are mostly things Smartball made, either prototypes for future stuff or just random one-offs haha.
I also thought to dig around in my cache since I have some stuff going back to 2006 in there. I found a version of Serpentine in there with a different filesize than the one you download off this site (4407kb vs 4480 in my cache), though I have no idea if that's actually any significant difference nor how to properly version it. Threw it here too for the hell of it too though.
I'll try to look through the cache for any of the other mods though I'm just using powershell to search through the actual file contents for keywords to try and find things. Dunno if there's a better way at this point but it's incredibly tedious when you get hundreds of results for some generic thing like 'CTC', so I don't really want to sit here digging through them all day too

Yea well, you can't have the old versions in your cache though. Because they won't work on versions 224 and above and thus no modern server could run them. Serpentine 7 was for version 220 and versions before that even for older Unreal. I made a conversion of the sbeta1 at some point though which was 1911 and I guess someone else also did the same given the file you have. That was the first ever version of serpentine. Going through files of cover disc magazines I still managed to find serpentine 5 though...but 6 is the version I was looking for mostly as that was IIRC the most robust before several guns were cut. Serp5 is when things finally took shape and most of the guns were in but not all. Serp6 was even bigger but I doubt the extra guns were finished, the models should have been there before being cut. One of the guns in version 7 is unfinished too. And Serp8 was just conversion of version 7 with some adjustments. Serp9 was a version some people consider bootleg(it was never properly finished) and it might be the "unknown_ver" you posted, can't verify yet. But I did run servers with version 9. But to my knowledge it was continued by the same guy or one of the associated people. It turned out to be "Bane", not sure if the same guy who did the hide and seek mod but he did Serpentine 8 basically, so it was already after the main team abandoned it. But thanks to him Serpentine could be played on 224 and above versions.
And yup, 2d_game was the mod by dots, not the original mod. I don't even know if dots had the idea separately from some other game or he heard/seen the original unreal2d mod.

Its identical except for the date. So that is Serpentine9. The only thing that was done was to change mp5, the sounds and the damage dealt is different and there might be some small bug fixes, I forgot. It was rather unfinished otherwise imo.
You probably got the file in 2008 from my server. If you have serpentineplus and such packages too that came from me. As that is/was my mod for serpentine.
Anyways defense corps in that old version only works on vanilla unreal and just like serpbeta only has one gun. But it has decals which probably makes it the first ever mod to use such!

So in the later versions it starts to switch into...the .u file usage for flag locations like nonamectf?
Well...I think for later versions they should have switched back to the old thing, having it inside the ini file, except adding array for more map names....
the arrays used to be limited but the modern versions added more and more support, so...yea just like some of our known mods there should have been an array of config for individual maps and this should be done should such a mod be created/updated again.
