UT Crouching bug

Post by Marzanna »

In linux version of UT this bug exists and it's not a problem when playing regular game. But some tactical mods require crouching a lot.
That mods sometimes support toggle crouch function.
But regular crouching causes strange behavior.

Unfortunately, I haven't found anything regarding to this bug.
May be someone knows workarounds or anything else to avoid it?

My UT version is 436.

What would this "strange behaviour" be?

Curious, does that happen if you change your key bindings to something else?

I wonder, I've binded crouching to another key and it worked!
But I remember exactly, that I tried this workaround some years ago and it didn't worked!
I used LControl key (switched to left Alt now), and what key do you use?

In that case, probably Ctrl+down or whatever else you had as "back" was a system-reserved key combination.

I always use C for all my crouching needs.

Can you change your crouch key to LControl and tell result?
Control works for me in other games including Unreal.
This bugs appears for me on different computers and different UT installations.

There should be no reason for this to happen.. as far as I know, lcontrol + down should work. Were you using WASD or the arrow keys?

I use WASD.
And Ctrl+S cause game pause on any PC with Linux installed.

Hmm, I just hope that Ctrl+C doesn't quit it :D

Hmm, maybe UT is intercepting it in a strange way and not handling it correctly.
