problems with mouse input in unreal gold. can't aim

Post by cvcarloscv »

i can't for the life of me use the mouse. i move the mouse to aim but it automatically centers the aim to the place it was before for some reason, the problem used to fix itself after restarting the game a couple times but now i've done it like 30 times and i simply cannot play

here's a recording of the bug. i tried messing around with the DefUser.ini and the User.ini files to manually change the inputs, i deleted the "CenterView" alias and its respective command because i thought those were causing the problems, but it didnt work. i post the ini files here in case someone can check them and see if i'm missing something.

i'm running the latest oldunreal patch, installed with the official oldunreal linux installer from github. i use debian 12 through a chromeOS vm (which is very much not ideal, but it's the only machine i have right now). i doubt it's something related to the OS because the mouse works perfectly in the menus for some reason. any help would be appreciated!!!

fixed. in case there is another single person on earth trying to play with this specific setup:

the problem is some weird shit the chromeOS compositor does to the game window. to fix it, run the executable as follows

Code: Select all

sommelier --fullscreen-mode=immersive ./unreal-bin-amd64
this also gives you more control on what resolutions you want to choose for the game and etc

Return to “Unreal 227”
