Bot support mod

Last year I implemented a basic bot support mod using a mix of the original bot code from UT2003/4, Free-Monkey's modifications, and takwu's native bot conversion. Bots will fight, hack, go after artifacts, and call out to their allies, with varying degrees of competency. Vehicles are not supported.

Maps a few custom actors and pathing for the bots to work. I included the following maps:
-APv2-RGB
-Garden
-Lowlands
-Nakoja
-Sirocco
-Sunset Beach
-AP-Anubis-IIv2
-Alcazar

If you want to play a game offline, you can enter the command "open <mapname>?difficulty=<#>" without quotes, where <mapname> is a level that has bot support and <#> is a number 0 through 7
eq2/mumfrey was also kind enough to let me host a server with them, which is currently running the above map list.

This is a very good idea for any multiplayer game. I think they could use a bit of polish on their capabilities, like implementing vehicle support and using every weapon to full effect, which I'm sure is doable using the UT2004 ai, but this could add a lot of life to a game that basically doesn't exist outside of organized player events.

Yeah, I never could figure a lot of that out. I'm sure like most of my stuff, I'll come back to it years later and will be annoyed by how obvious it was.

Doesn't seem to have helped though, games pretty much dried up completely after I released it.

It's mostly just a Quality of Life upgrade to keep an old game playable, but there's at least one bot server still up on XMP that I've had my eye on- improvements to the bots would probably go a long way. I know from experience that pvp games like the oldschool Half-Life Team Fortress Classic pretty much rely on bots to keep the game alive, I have hundreds if not thousands of hours logged in that game just from a good player vs. bots server that's stood the test of time.

I played at the only XMP bot server a week ago. All other servers were empty so it was nice to have the ability to play against bots.
Even with the limited AI I lost big time against them, because I lost all of my XMP skills after so many years.

It's a pity that the game needs bots now because there are never people playing. Which discourages players from playing as well.
