Unused/lost Unreal and UT music patterns

Post by SMaster2341 »

Hello there! I just have some questions to ya. Not too long time ago I discovered some info about unused/removed patterns in unreal/UT tracks. I really wanted to get them. And actually I found some of them in ogg/flac, but this is not that I really expected, because I wanted it in actual mod format.
I started to search that and I found some forums where may somebody know about this or actually did this, but all this info wasn't really useful. They're talking about these lost patterns can be extracted/restored by ModplugTracker somehow, or kinda, but I never seen this kind of stuff exploring unreal stuff by MPT.
Then I started to search it in Unreal\UT betas, but I didn't found any of this stuff there.
Is there's some kind of methods\secrets that can restore these patterns? I feel like I lost some part of puzzle. I'm totally confused about all this info and that I got it just right now. Maybe these patterns are leaks from somewhere? Is this just a fake?
Somebody, please, explain me the stuff :-\

This is the forum link to this kind of info:

Recently one guy on YT told me location of these patterns in the comments of one of his videos. Actually this is placed in left side panel of ModplugTracker when you open some track. You can see the one dir with opened track file name here. Inside of this dir open the folder named "Patterns". Inside of it you can see any patterns of this track including removed ones. You should doubleclick required pattern to open and edit it in certain sequence. Here we go.
The video of that guy who helped me placed in my previous post in this topic.

Some of my projects have restored patterns music. In fact the upcoming release of UPSX rise of jrath has a particulary magnificent piece for E2L9 that I really enjoy....

What you need to do is open the tracker files with something like ModPlug Tracker, or some other editor. I don't have it with me so I can't tell you the exact window -- but one of the windows will show all the patterns programmed into the track. It'll be something like, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, etc. and if you listen to those patterns, you'll clearly recognize pieces of the songs. What you have to do is manually play the patterns that aren't in the normal playthrough logic (in the above example, 1 and 7). I think MPT also has an Export to WAV option.
