Cant launch game on Windows 10 x64 (227i)
When I launch the game it just shows a small 640x480 screen that is blank and has some white box. The game never shows up, and the only way to launch it is through safe mode with all things turned off except resetting config to default, and even then sometimes it flat out doesn't launch. Hey there
Did you try different renderers? The log shows that you seem to use SoftDrv. Although SoftDrv should run on every system, it may cause problems on modern systems. You could try OpenGL or D3D9 if not done already. If these are not working either, please post the logs of it as well here.

Not sure, but I had a few crashes on startup when trying to run the game on another laptop because of DEP, you could try turning that off in windows?

It also helps if you set the WindowedRenderer device to the same as the GameRenderer.
You will have to manually edit the Unreal.ini
You can also open UEd to change and configure the renderers from the "Advanced Options" window.
Use OpenGL for nVidia and DX9 for ATI and intel.
Also make sure that you have actually installed the full DirectX9 runtime files, or Windows will be lacking full HW support for pre DX10.

I have tried OpenGL and 3Dfx glide (via nglide) and they dont work for me. I just get a black screen with a small white thing sometimes. Or they crash and dont work. Software only seems to work when I disable literally everything like sound. I've turned DEP only for windows services and it gets rid of some errors. DirectX9 doesnt work either. I've installed DirectX9.5 some times and it seems to not work still.

IIRC, we already figured out that such advices make no sense, because there are users who find D3D9Drv working better with their nVidia graphics and there are users who find OpenGLDrv working better with their ATI graphics. For example, the most critical disadvantage of using the combination OpenGLDrv + nVidia graphics on my system is a very high output latency which makes my aiming much less accurate than in case of using D3D9Drv, so I prefer to use D3D9 API.Use OpenGL for nVidia and DX9 for ATI and intel.

Which graphics card or chip do you have?
Did you install drivers for your video card/chip or do you use the default Windows 10 driver? (If yes, try installing a driver from the manufacturer of your video chip/card)

Your log shows Unreal is trying to use 16-bit color. You should set this to 32-bit: In Unreal.ini, set WindowedColorBits and FullscreenColorBits to 32.

I have ran many other games, including HyperBowl Plus edition. When trying to run 3dfx with Nglide, Direct3D, Direct3D8, Direct3D9 and OpenGL they simply hang and then crash. I have AMD 7600M HD card adapter. Even when I enabled the 32bit color with Software or Direct3D it still doesn't work. Did you install (AMD) drivers for your video card? Sometimes games won't work on the default Windows driver. Be sure you get drivers from your laptop manufacturer (recommended) or else directly from the AMD website.

guess easiest is to go to:
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
and just download the latest. The installer will take care about it, even if its the same version it won't do any harm.

Startupfullscreen=false i find useful for me. I don't really like playing fullscreen anyway.
Note that to my knowledge your original post error is because of a too large screensize being attempted for fullscreen softdrv and Startupfullscreen=false would've fixed it for you.

Well it works now. Thanks to KAOS[]Casey as the Startupfullscreen = false made the game work with Direct3D9. OpenGL seems to crash my game along with Software but DirectX works like a charm
