It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

Almost have it working on Linux!

Hello, I've downloaded Unreal 227 for Unreal Gold and I've copied the files into the application folder on my computer and can get the game to run by running the UnrealLinux.bin app. However, for some reason at the moment I have no sound when playing the game. Moreover when I try to change any settings to do with sound in the game's menu, the application crashes. Based on other responses I've seen for support, I'm including a copy of the -log from my most recent session. Its so close to working, so I hope that there's a good fix!

Maybe your setup has more possible video resolutions than the game can handle.

I'm unsure which version it is specifically. The patch that I downloaded was a file called UnrealPatch227fWinLinNI.7z The first folder in this archive is named 227f

that's umm. a very outdated version that I myself wouldn't recommend. Its still from the period of trying things out honestly.

Besides that's still the version when Unreal Gold wasn't supported yet, only regular Unreal, am I right? The UGold support was unsupported/custom there.

All the stuff related to Return To Na Pali would not work unless you'd download a third party UPak.

Please try with either patch 227i or 227j. 227j is more modern but has a bug that prevents Unreal Return to Na Pali from starting properly when launched via the game menu.

Ok I've downloaded and installed 227j per recommendation however its currently giving me the following message when I try to run.

try 227i, imo.
227j has a lot more library dependancies that can give problems to some people too. 227j is also less stable in the way it was released. that's why 227k is going ahead faster

though it doesn't appear in the linux section, the developement distros had linux version in, i'm not sure if the unrealgold227i one does but try it, try to download the one under the windows section, it might have it inside.
