It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

After login it redirects to "https://www.oldunreal.com/phpBB3/"
Just checked in a private window, only the first link redirects to http, the second one redirects to https.

Use the main page links!!! Click in the menu on "Forums"...or in the news from 18-01-2021. Both links are using redirection to http.

Yeah, right, both links from there lead to http. Weird.

I had a global redirect to https, but can't do it that way because it will kill access to both ingame news and masterserver update (for now at least). Since both forum and mainpage redirect to https too it shouldnt cause and problems.
But I can't find a single remaining http redirect anywhere?

How did you set the redirect...via htaccess?

Nah, the hosting service provides this via "one click", not entirely sure what they do in the background there, need to ask. I think I can do it via htaccess as well, will check once I find some time :)
Still, I don't see any http redirects yet?

Forum keeps forgetting I'm logged in, if I open a thread in a new window or leave without logging out... when I come back it looks like it logged me out.

Can you please enable to edit your own messages, regardless when they were posted. Or at least consider this?
Now messages seem to lock shut from editing after a couple of days.

This is being disabled to avoid older posts being raped by (ex) members going rampage, ripping entire topics useless. We've had this problem 2 times now, so I let this option enabled. I could increase the number of days I think.

I understand. I have seen this happen in other forums.

One of the reasons I asked this was that ividyon merged two threads started by me of the same issue in different versions. I'm used to start new threads for issues that still occur in a new release to keep clear that a report is still relevant for a new version. Now ividyon prefers to continue in existing threads I wanted to update the start post and thread title to include the new version number.

Since this month, I've once again been unable to stay logged in, the forums keep booting me out multiple times within the same day. Anyone else have this?

I access the forums over a https://forums.oldunreal.com bookmark.

I've found this issue a few months ago...and talked about it with Jochen. It's a redirection issue...https://forums.oldunreal.com/ redirects you a "http" URL where're saved your login data. But after login into the forum it redirects you again to a "https" URL, where the cookie is invalid.

Thats the way:
https://forums.oldunreal.com -> http://www.oldunreal.com/phpBB3/ -> Login -> https://www.oldunreal.com/phpBB3/

My solution...only bookmark https://www.oldunreal.com/phpBB3/

Well, Smirf should be able to fix this, that should do the trick.

Adjusted the bookmark until then. But at that point, why even have the two URLs at all? Just stick to one.

thanks for analyzing, the redirection is clearly set to https, it should not end up in http. Odd...

Ah, it's back online tonight, I had a mediawiki error message up until today, saying it was running on the wrong version of PHP.

EDIT: gone again. Here's the message :
MediaWiki 1.36 internal error

MediaWiki 1.36 requires PHP 7.3.19 or higher; you are using PHP 7.2.34.
Supported PHP versions

Please consider upgrading your copy of PHP. PHP versions less than v7.3.0 are no longer supported by the PHP Group and will not receive security or bugfix updates.

If for some reason you are unable to upgrade your PHP version, you will need to download an older version of MediaWiki from our website. See our compatibility page for details of which versions are compatible with prior versions of PHP.

In theory all this could be automated. In practice probably not.

Forum Search error

I've got an error while searching in combination of "open location" or "open+location"...but searching with keywords "open level" or "open map" works fine.
