Just want to start a dedicated server on Windows 10

UT now belongs to the "old" Unreal as well. Supporting it for OpenGL and Sound its time to put up a board now.

Just want to start a dedicated server on Windows 10

Post by Jokke »

Hi guys,

I've been trying to install UT server on my windows 10 desktop.
I've installed UT Server 436final + patch 451b.

Unfortunately, whenever I want to start the game, I get a critical error. This is what the logs tells me:

I'm guessing by the log you have a corrupted Annoucer.uax. Try this one: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BL84P3 ... sp=sharing

Hi,

Thanks for the answer! Well replacing that file seems to have fixed the critical error, but now I'm getting a new error on startup:

Code: Select all

Log: Browse: CityIntro.unr?Name=Player?Class=Botpack.TMale2?team=255?skin=SoldierSkins.blkt?Face=SoldierSkins.Othello
Log: LoadMap: CityIntro.unr?Name=Player?Class=Botpack.TMale2?team=255?skin=SoldierSkins.blkt?Face=SoldierSkins.Othello
Warning: Failed to load 'CityIntro.unr': Can't find file 'CityIntro.unr'
Warning: Failed to load 'Level None.MyLevel': Can't find file 'CityIntro.unr'
Critical: appError called:
Critical: Failed to enter CityIntro.unr: Can't find file 'CityIntro.unr'
Critical: Windows GetLastError: There are no more files. (18)
Exit: Executing UObject::StaticShutdownAfterError
So the file CityIntro.unr seems to be missing.

I deleted the .ini file to create a new, clean one, but unfortunately that doensn't seem to work either.

Thanks for the help!

CityIntro.unr is the intro map. There should be no reason for it to be missing except for an incomplete or corrupt installation. Try to reinstall the game from CD and apply the appropriate patches again.

You may want to make a copy of your broken installation in case you want to salvage some settings from your old .ini files.

In the Unreal Tournament ini change the line LocalMap=CityIntro.unr to LocalMap=UT-Logo-Map.unr

This is assuming you have the UT-Logo-Map file in your map folder.
