It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

UT now belongs to the "old" Unreal as well. Supporting it for OpenGL and Sound its time to put up a board now.

Would anyone be interested if I were to wright up a multiplayer Tournament mod?

Basically the only real difference would be DM being replaced with TDM and it would require X number of players to start a match.

All players would be on the same team (always) with extra human players swapping out bots.

If a positive enough response comes through I'll work on it (Will likely take some time as I'm running in the UT99.org mapping contest too + life).

Thoughts?
-Finding new ways to break the engine since 1872.

Sadly there's not enough players any longer to support the work. Take a look at the player count in the server browser. When my server is up I can go a couple of weeks without a single join. You might see if a group like Dog would consider testing it internally as they still get a couple of people at a time on.

That being said I'm sure you could get a few people to help test enough to get it done but after that it just wouldn't see use.

Edit: I'm retarded, this is for UT. Still, there's very little player base for new game modes. The people that still play have their home server and group and the only servers that see random use are ones that cater to PUGs as the competitive players still hop on from time to time.

There is already a TDM in UT ...I just played it 2 days ago.
What would be different?
If you would create a TLMS, that would be more interesting. ;)

MrLoathsome already made a few team game modes with players vs pawns.
As nobody wants to play it the server was switched off this week.

Sorry guys, I should have been more specific in what I meant, I mean a mod to replace the single player tournament ladders with multiplayer, Intended for home use not online.

for lan just

start ut / multiplayer/start a new multiplayer game

or beast start a server ready
Full server optimized (14 CustomGameConfig) ready to fight.
Just unzip the file and start the server with the RunServer.bat

Even if you run a LAN you'll still need to build it like it works online. The fact that it's proposed as multiplayer by default means someone is going to be the server and someone is going to be the client.

I'm not poo-pooing the idea either. It actually sounds like a good idea if you could build in persistent statistics and some sort of placeholder for your 'spot' in the tournament. Make people earn enough points to advance in the tourny, stuff like that. When I played 2K4 RPG there was absolutely nothing better than getting a frag on a very high level player and receiving the avalanche of XP.

Man, I wish there were still players around. Now I want to make that....
