Unreal Creation Station [UnrealEd for Unreal v219]

Post by Victor Delacroix »

Apart from the exclusive maps, the S3 Savage Unreal Gallery Beta #2 contained a unique version of the Unreal Editor. This editor works only with version 219 and is dubbed Unreal Creation Station. I don't know what unique features it has - the only thing you all can do is download the b**ch and test it for yourselves. As the S3 Gallery's system dir has a later datestamp than the original 219 patch, I made a new 219 patch instead of releasing just the editor itself. The patch can be downloaded from the link below:

Unreal Patch 219 CS - 1.69 MB - MegaUpload

A small reminder: an individual going by the name Lestat claims in the Readme files of some of his maps, that he created these with this specific editor. So, it is usable. The only question that remains - is this editor better than the regular UnrealEd 1.0?

Darn, completelly forgot to post this one  ::)

I tried it several days ago, and could not get it to work  :-/

I installed a fresh Unreal 224 and added those files to the systemfolder and this is the result i got:

It boots just fine, but after that the only thing i can do is open a new map so the viewports will be there, but it lacks a menu. I can pull down all menus on top but nothing happens if i click on them. As said except new, but even than i can only choose new map, not script or textures.

Which than results in this:

Is the 224 version the problem, or is it missing files after all?

Definitely is. The patch I gave you is 219, so you downgraded below UnrealShare architecture. Try one of the patches that doesn't include UnrealShare.u, and copy only the UnrealEd.exe there.

Ok I tried this new (er old, but new to me) version as well. I can't get it to load at all and I get the following error.I originally changed the system folder to system219 for the patched version.

Does this version include an engine.u file? If so it wasn't  in the package.  I even tried the 219 patch with same results. I also increased my virtual memory for the first error with no effect. I have plenty of hard drive space so there is no problem there. I also tried the system setting and a custom setting of 5000 mb with a 10000 mb max for virtual memory. Any ideas? My cpu is an Athlon 64. Should I try an older machine? The unreal 219 patch files I have does not contain the engine.u package either.  :-/

Maybe this patch needs to be applied on over an earlier patch?

I do not understand clearly why im getting the same results as diehard. I took unreal from its original cd (unpatched) and simply replaced the old system folder with the 219 system folder I got in the download. With everything kept unpatched, I still could only do the basic function of loading a map

Sorry for the necrobump but does anyone still have this or the original disc? It seems to be lost right now.

also why is this thread in this particular forum section?

also this is better to apply directly over version 219. But I never got to try this on itself, only with other versions.

Since Delacroix got hold of the original iso again, this can be easily recreated/put up again, so here it is

OEM219

Plus there was actually this separate zip file on the disc that seems to be a further patch or something. Or maybe its not and its just the pure patch thing (but without the newed etc).

S3URL029

Well at least its here again now for download so the function of this thread was restored I guess.

Either way guys its better to apply this over vanilla Unreal or at least pre-220 versions for best results or just use the system directory fresh without anything, like you can customize the paths in your config file.
