It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

Built to ward off flying fortresses, these concrete towers failed to prevent invasions when planetary landers became large and robust enough to use ramming manoeuvres against their weapon platforms. All but one were dismantled.

This is a rather uninspired Deathmatch arena built because I need something to fiddle with while I'm focusing on something else. UT2004 takes too much work for such an unfocused project so here's my first UT map since God knows when. Any comment appreciated.

I haven't played it or even downloaded it yet but the screenshots look great. Just goes to show how such basic shapes can make a nice appearance. I also like the textures you used. I'll definitely take a look at it tomorrow.

This is one of those maps that showcases how much good lighting does. Getting that correct is hard but it looks like you spent the time to do it very well.

I always think of the map proper much like a referee in a sporting event. They need to be good but the very best ones bring out the most in the participants without becoming the focus of the game themselves. Deck, Face, Stalwart, etc are all favorite maps but all are basically just simplistic designs done well. This map is like that too.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with simple done right.

Did you happen to make a Gold version of this gem? If not, do you mind if I switch out the items to U1 items?

Map updated: crash in the maplist caused by improper screenshot. This should be fixed. You can redownload the map.
Did you happen to make a Gold version of this gem?  If not, do you mind if I switch out the items to U1 items?
I haven't planned a UGold version but do what you want. Just keep me credited.

Version 1.3 now includes missing kill zones at the bottom of the tower. Please redownload the map.

I really love the style of the map especially that you mostly use dark and bright base textures to create contrast without using complex textures with shapes in it.

This makes the map look so clean as it is!
Also the lighting is superb in my eyes!

I'm thrilled to see such a positive reception for this map, but on the other hand, I'm a bit confused because this is the first map in years I've done with no love, no inspiration, no emotion, on a symetric layout without care, just for the sake of mapping, and it got more praise than huge ambitious projects I put my soul into. ;D

Thank you all, this is heartwarming for an old grognard who thought he had lost it for a while.

Quite a late update, but I just fixed a hole caused by a misplaced portal. Redownload the map to get version 1.4.

I really like the flow of this map so I decided to make a port for Unreal. It can be played in versions 224 and above. Enjoy!!
