My pretty girl, Charlene, the little dog in profile pic, had a cardiac event 2 days ago. She died this morning. So I'll be holding off on a bird ramblings for a bit. I'm sure you will all understand why, and a few okay with me shutting up about birds for a while. I'll be fine. Just need a couple days sleep.

May you be comforted by the peace of knowing that you provided a loving home to your awesome pet for several years.

Thanks for all the kind words. Charlene was my first pet, ever. I'm new to all this. Damn hard life lesson to learn. Hope I'm a quick learner. Day 1 sucked, but is done. Onward to day 2. Again, thanks for the kind words.

I posted this on my Facebook. Thought I'd share:

I'm an avid bird watcher. Not to collect sightings of all the different types, but I'm fascinated by the ways they fly. Every day around 3-5 pm an eagle soars overhead, hunting along the railroad tracks towards the river. It then follows the river, and that's where I lose sight of it. I've been living in the same building for over 5 years, and a few months after I moved in the eagle started to take a detour from hunting along the tracks to circle above the parking lot behind my building. It was hunting my little 4 lbs dog. The eagle would make 6-7 full circles, getting a little lower each time, but never coming that close. It always stayed above the trees. Of course, I kept myself near my dog, but every day it was the same routine. For any MASH fans you'll get this. I've named this eagle Five O'Clock Charlie. Today I was out back in the parking lot having a smoke, and there's Charlie. I look at the time, and yup it's Charlie. He started to do his daily circles, but after 4-5 of them he dipped really low flying right above my head. I swear I could feel a slight rush of air. He couldn't see my Charlene and came for a closer look. I'm curious if he'll just stopped making the detour. Eagles are very intelligent. Or maybe it's the island paying its respect for the loss of one of its precious creatures. That's a nicer thought than it was just hungry.

My little dog Charlene is back home. I went and picked up her ashes this afternoon. They're in a nice wooden box with her name on the lid. I have the box in front of a portrait of Charlene my Uncle made, shaped out of wood. Now, with all that done it's time to get on with my 'ramblings'. I'm also going to take 1080p screenshots of every Unreal 1 map I can and post them on my site. I'd be nice to have the collection online, and internet-forever, so to speak.

Hey Buster,

Really sorry for your loss mate, she sounded like a good friend :/

Though if she could tell you, she'd want you to know that she's still alive; she's just not physical. She's a spirit.

But I say that with risk of offending any personal beliefs of yours, though I hope still that it can be sought comfort in.

Thanks for the kind words. No offense taken, far from it. She was a special dog. She was attached to my rib cage. It would of been easier if she had been a normal dog, but she was a little snuggle monster and so  damn cute. It's getting better, and after some time I'll get another dog. Not one attached to my rib cage, though. I'm liking use of both of my arms.

I'm sorry for your loss Buster.

Personally I generally dislike dogs, as random dogs are way too unpredictable for me, come too close, jump towards my body, tend to make a lot of noise or smell bad and sometimes even bite my friends. But that's just me. I've had other critters around and know you can get quite attached to them over time.
