Just a couple notes on the 227 user.ini

Hi Smirftsch (and the 227 Dev team),

Every time I do an install of Unreal Classic or Unreal Gold I patch it to 227i. I will then immediately add the following to the User.ini file. The E and the Q buttons are the best for quick use of any Inventory, during single player of bot match games. The Y and N are the only keys not on the list, so I add them. The other quirk is the missing SlotNames[7]=Saved game. Without it the Saved Games menu doesn't look all the same. Slot 7 shows up looking different. Just thought you'd consider adding those few things to the User.ini file when you do the next 227 build, if you can/want to, that is. Just had to share this.

User.ini

[Engine.Input]
... add binds to these 2 keys
E=InventoryActivate
Q=InventoryNext
... add these keys to the list
Y=
N=

[UnrealShare.UnrealSlotMenu]
... add the missing save slot
SlotNames[7]=Saved game

I presume, many players use their custom keybinds instead of default settings anyway Smiley I personally prefer EDSF movement over popular WSAD:

2=SwitchWeapon 2 // Automag
3=SwitchWeapon 3 // Stinger
4=SwitchWeapon 4 // ASMD
E=MoveForward
D=MoveBackward
S=StrafeLeft
F=StrafeRight
Q=SwitchWeapon 8 // GesBioRifle
W=SwitchWeapon 6 // FlakCannon
R=SwitchWeapon 5 // Eightball
T=InventoryPrevious
Y=InventoryNext
A=SwitchWeapon 9 // Rifle
G=InventoryActivate
H=Suicide
Z=SwitchWeapon 1 // DispersionPistol
X=SwitchWeapon 7 // Razorjack
C=SwitchWeapon 0 // Minigun
V=ThrowWeapon
B=Grab
Ctrl=FeignDeath
Shift=Duck
Alt=ActivateItem | OnRelease ActivateItem // for Energy Amplifier
Space=Jump

Regarding inventory, I prefer to use Prior & Next mouse buttons in games that support binding these buttons. Unfortunately, Unreal does not handle them, so I'm using T & Y.

I kind of have a fascination with 'user interface' type things. How the keys are set up for intuitive reactions.

One thing I've been thinking about lately, and I've even made some notes about it, Unreal is basically 'jump puzzle' shooter. Yet there's only 1 type of jump. A regular click produces an average jump, and the only thing that's been tweaked (not including the use of jump pads) is air control.

I'm going to post my thoughts about this elsewhere in the forums. I have no talent in uscript (how to make modifications to how a player moves), but I'll toss my idea out here in the next few days.
