as some of you may have noticed, oldunreal.com is now on https. Please notify me here or via mail if you experience any trouble with that.
Also the wiki has been updated to 1.30.0 and I fixed some trouble with E-Mail confirmations there.

PS: Don't worry about mixed content messages, these may appear still unless anyone uses also profile and topic images on https as well. There is not much I can do about that from my side, so if possible change any link for embedded images to https Smiley

If you want to, you can run some script over all my http://coding.hanfling.de/* image tags to turn that into https, but it's probably not worth the effort.

Many files from the Downloads section became inaccessible. F.e., when I try to download any official patch from https://www.oldunreal.com/officialpatches.html, I get this message:

Quote:
The download you requested is only available from its original homepage www.oldunreal.com
The link you clicked on was created without permission from Oldunreal.

This only works when the web server is loaded from actually does support HTTPS and has a valid certificate. A lot of web servers simply have no HTTPS support or do not have a valid certificate.

profile images however can be uploaded here as well (in the User CP)  to ensure they are on htps.

Edited:
I could deny images from non https sources now, but I am not sure if this is the way to go. It would be cleaner at least, but would enforce anyone changing their image to https, which may make some people not really happy.

Maybe one could do this gradually, like rejecting new non https avatars, displaying a notice for users with existing non https avatars, and like after half a year do that change.

Same could go for images, but maybe not break them, that would probably suck.

Also maybe it would be worth to try running a script for avatars and images, and see if the same image file is available on the matching https address, and if so change it to that. This might work for a suprising amount of files.

I think your changeover to https might have broken the Community News page in Unreal v2.27i.  Would we have to make any changes to the .INI files or is it fixable on your end?  Maybe something to add to 2.27j?

it was definitely broken in the first moment, the same was in 227j and there are no real differences regarding that, but I fixed it pretty directly.
Also checked it with 227i and it seems to do fine here. Is there anything in your logs?

Some random input:
My web server where I host my avatar does not have HTTPS support (and will not get this) and my animation is too large for the file size limit of OldUnreal.com. Having said this: You should not change plans just for my avatar image. If you made a well thought-over choice for HTTPS only, you have my consent.
