A humongous amount of data is slowly being transferred between the HyperCoop.tk server and NewbiesPlayground.com/net. This will take a lot of time.

To anyone who is willing to download GigaCache when it is ready:

You may want to prepare yourself by updating your WinRAR or IZArc archivers to the latest versions because GigaCache will be shipped in the new highly efficient RAR v5 (.rar) format.

(I can recommend WinRAR because it has been polished over many years for the smoothest and most error-free operation as well as repairing support. WinRAR is shareware tho where the others are freeware)

I would like to throw in my two cents and give a big thanks to Hyper for reconsidering this. I can echo GoPostal's sentiments about losing things from the past and can readily recall a few maps that for the longest time have only resided in the confines of my own memory, said files being lost to computer trouble. I think this is a great thing - thanks!!  Smiley

I am also seeding mine, if anyone is interested.

gopostal: I totally understand why you banned this place mate; there are a lot of bad apples over here and lots of Chinese who seem to like to route through Korea.

To quickly reply to Bob in a more constructive manner:

If it was all known stuff, then sorry. Sorry to have you use bandwidth on it, but I tried my best to make it clear that this wasn't a revolutionary post. I wasn't bringing back Lazarus, but I did believe some of the content was lost outside of obscure archives, which nobody may have seen or thought to look at for a while. As I said, I tried to do some checking online to see if this was worth posting at all, and my checks came up with a few things that had no links, so I thought posting the files had some merit. Apparently not, but I still can't regret doing it.

My thanks again to Hyper and strategy for working something out on everyone's behalf.

GigaCache has been released, with a big thanks to Strategy-(Dog)- of NewbiesPlayground for hosting the files.

Info & download
http://www.hypercoop.tk | http://www.hypercoop.tk/indexal.htm

*** GigaCache has some serious advantages and disadvantages and is intended for heavy users only. Please consider them before you download ***

GigaCache is an 11.7 GB download which decompresses to 30.9 GB of Unreal cache from the year 2000 to March 27 2016.
You will need a RAR5 compatible archiver to decompress, like WinRAR 5.0 or newer or IZArc 4.1.8 or newer.

Oh Happy Day!

Is there a donate link to help pay for the bandwidth consumed Strategy? It's appropriate to help pay your costs for taking such an amount of your bandwidth.

@Carbon: I'm sorry my friend, I truly am. I would be happy to send you the PeerBlock logs so you can see for yourself. It's a constant stream of Korea and Chinese IP's trying to access ports 21, 80, and 8080. Because of the nature of my modem/router I am forced to DMZ the server so it's sniffed by everyone and they all bang on the front door. Some with a great level of persistence.

@Gex: It's looks like it's you and me kid left in the torrent. Want to take turns seeding? I'll go for the next week if you want.

Thanks for the Dropbox link strategy! That should help with the bandwidth issue but yes, as gopostal said, if there is an assist needed for the hosting, I would be happy to contribute.

@gopostal: no problem mate. Really! Smiley

Hyper,

Can we get some MD5/SHA-* of each part file? It seems I may have gotten a bad download of one of them.

"Warnings: There are some data after the end of the payload data"

Thanks

You can verify your files against these values:
GigaCache file verification hashes

I tested all GigaCache files at my server for errors before transfer using the WinRAR test function. No errors were found on the archives.

@Strategy: Can you please do the same on your files, run it through a test run with WinRAR? Just to make sure.
@Strategy: I provided you also with a link to a repair volume (WinRAR .rev file) exactly to repair problems with a currupted file during transfer. Do you mind to add this one to your offerings?

Update:
@[]KAOS[]Casey: If you get this error in 7-zip: Can you try testing / decompressing your files with WinRAR? This may just be a 7-zip bug.
I get the same error when I try to test my original, undamaged files using 7-zip. They test fine in WinRAR and IZArc. For now I will remove 7-zip from the recommended archivers.

Update2: I extracted my GigaCache archives using 7-zip and except for the warning it seems to extract just fine. It is up to you if you want to trust this as it is or try another compatible archiver.
