Unreal 2 Graphics

Hi all!

I used the search feature and found a thread on this topic from the past, but the question about how to maximize Unreal 2's graphics was never answered...the OP uninstalled the game 2 posts later.

Now, leaving opinions about U2 aside, I am looking to take the game to the absolute maximum graphically.

Specific questions:

GoreDetailLevel=0 (was on "3")
MaxDetailLevel=0 (was on "2")
FluidSurfaceDetail=0 (was on "1")

MasterDetailLevel=0 (was on "2")
MaxNumDecals=0 (didn't change)

Is "0" the best? I have tried other numbers? After making the changes, it seems to look better, so I assume I am correct. I sharpened up the textures a bit through the old
DefaultTexMipBias= minus value, and that helps. (-1 works).

Not sure what else I can do. I will post the relevant sections of the .ini and if you know, please suggest some changes. Thanks!

Well, the disdain of this game runs deep.

Regardless of disdain, there's not much to do about Unreal 2's graphics, which, I think, is the reason for the lack of answers. It doesn't have the benefits of tons of alternative renderers or HD texture packs, all you can do is max out all the numbers in the renderer options. The game is very beautiful out of the box anyway. All there is to suggest is to tweak your config. according to your tastes. Sorry for this unsatisfying answer.

You must construct additional pylons.

No, not unsatisfying at all. Yes, the game looks good out of the box, but with the config as I have set it, it looks even better. I also understand that nothing has been done third-party with the graphics, but thanks for the assurance.

I was just wondering if there are any items that I missed tweaking in the .ini and if "0" offers the highest setting for the ~ "detail" entries in the .ini file.

While i have a lot of experience with the Unreal .ini files, again, I was just hoping for an even more experienced set of eyes.

Thanks!

Try to play around with the options in the settings menu, then see how they change your INI. The Detail options sound to me like they should be higher to be of better quality, but I never really tried changing that.

Also, you're posting in the wrong forum.
