[227g25/26] "You have been kicked"
Posted: Fri Apr 09, 2010 12:00 am
by Hyper
I received a few messages of players being kicked from my server at level change. When I tested a map timer I experienced it myself.
I was testing a JCoopZ "sequence" (map redirect) by setting a maptimer to one minute. When the timer reached 0 my client received a message that I was kicked from the server and I did not connect to the next level.

Do you have integrity enabled?
If so, there are quite a few time sensitive settings, which could cause that. Also Unreal checks if there are a given number of joins in a specified timespan, to prevent from DoS attacks.
Maybe some of these settings require tweaking yet.

Sure, but it has nothing to do with the minutes. It happens when the timer reaches 0 but it also happens on other map switches.
It resulted in the same issue.

I got the same message on your server right when someone ended the map, right about when the processservertravel junk should pop up and wait for the map to change

I can confirm this from reports from other players.

I was on hyper's server
Re: [227g25] "You have been kicked"

I was at my other server. (normal maps)
The map timer reached 0
I appeared to be reconnecting to the same level
Then the next level loaded and I lost my inventory and score.
Something in the map traveling works differently than in 227f
I posted a server log here:
Please note a strange password behaviour. My client seems to generate random passwords which it uses to login.
In the log you see three passwords being used:
"Password" which stands for my admin password
"differentpassword" which seems to be a random password
"anotherdifferentpassword" which seems to be yet another random password.
Why is it making up random passwords and how can I disable this behaviour? Is this behaviour related to the lost inventories or kicking?

Seems like more byte order issues with cross compiling

That is normal when you are logged in as administrator running JCoopZ. It has always done that since before the initial public release. I thought you knew this? The random password matches up with the 'ActivePassword' to your administrator session, and changes before each new connection. As a normal player if there is a password it is unchanged.
That should not effect travel to the next map.

absolutely no clue, can't remember seeing those before. Also the mentioned packages are not changed.

Okay. I can't remember anything of this, so if I once knew this, I must have forgotten it. But thanks for your clarification. Then we can rule this out.

So, what do we need to do with this then? Did you already test this with JCoopZ for example?

Confirmed on minimal server set up with just jcoopz1. Server and client 227g_26
Login as admin automatically -> use advance and sometimes it will mess up greatly. Sometimes it will work. Needs more research.
Going to try different gametypes.

Can't reproduce on xCoop, Unrealshare.Coopgame, koopgame2.koopgame2, and klondikecoop{unreleased to public as of yet}
This is very confusing. What possibly could cause this in uscript? And why has it only shown up now?
